The White Palace at Marghuzar was the summer residence of the Wali of Swat. Built entirely of polished white marble in 1941, it now operates as both a museum and a heritage hotel.
History
Built in 1941 by Miangul Abdul Wadud, the first Wali of Swat, as a summer escape from Saidu Sharif. Queen Elizabeth II famously stayed here in 1961 during her Pakistan tour.
Constructed entirely from local white marble — the same marble used for the Taj Mahal, mined nearby.
