BarSwat

Swat is a 4-season destination — there is no truly bad time to visit, but each month offers something different. This guide tells you exactly what weather, scenery and crowds to expect every month of the year.
For mountain scenery, alpine lakes and trekking: late May to early September.
For autumn colours and clear weather: October to mid-November.
For snowfall in Kalam and Malam Jabba skiing: late December to mid-February.
For peach, apricot and apple blossoms: late March to mid-April.
Avoid late July to mid-August if you don't like crowds (peak Pakistani vacation time).
Lower Swat (Mingora, Saidu Sharif, Fizagat, Marghuzar) explodes with peach, apple and apricot blossom in late March and April. Daytime temperatures sit at a perfect 18-25°C.
Upper Swat (Kalam, Bahrain) is still cold and the road to Mahodand often opens only by late May.
Peak season. Mingora is hot (30-35°C) but Kalam is a cool 18-25°C, making it the busiest escape from Punjab and Karachi heat.
All upper-valley roads are open: Kalam, Mahodand, Ushu Forest, Utror, Gabral, Malam Jabba. Hotel prices double during Eid-ul-Adha and 14 August holidays.
The best time for photographers. The poplar and walnut trees turn gold, the air is crystal clear, and crowds drop sharply after September.
October mornings can be 5°C in Kalam but afternoons are perfect at 18-22°C. Snow may arrive on Malam Jabba peak by late November.
Heavy snowfall in Kalam, Bahrain, Malam Jabba and the entire upper valley. Mingora and Saidu Sharif rarely get snow but get cold (3-12°C).
Many Kalam hotels close in January-February. Malam Jabba ski resort is the main winter draw, with the season usually running 20 December to 28 February.
Yes, the Bahrain-Kalam road stays open most winters but can be temporarily blocked by snow. Many small hotels close; the larger ones (Rock City, Hilton, Florid) stay open.
First snow usually arrives in late November. Heavy snowfall and skiing conditions are reliable from 20 December to end of February.
