Swat is one of the best trekking destinations in Pakistan — easy day hikes for beginners, plus serious multi-day treks for experienced hikers up to 19,000-foot peaks.
Charr Tangay Waterfall: 1 hour return from the Mingora-Marghuzar road. Flat trail, suitable for families. No guide needed.
Donchar Gul Waterfall: 2 hours return from Bahrain. Moderate gorge walk, grippy shoes recommended.
Fizagat to Saidu Sharif riverside walk: 3 km flat riverside path, fully accessible.
Marghuzar Orchards Walk: 2 hours scenic loop around the Marghuzar valley orchards. Best in spring (March-April) when the trees are in bloom.
Malam Jabba Upper Slopes: 2-3 hour walk above the ski resort with panoramic views of the Swat valley.
Daral Lake (from Bahrain): 3-4 hours each way via Daral village. Gain 1,200 metres over 12 km. Trail mostly clear but the upper section has loose scree. Guide recommended.
Spin Khwar Lake (from Kalam): full day round trip via Ladu meadows. 14 km return, starts at 2,000 m. Wildflowers and alpine meadows all the way. Guide essential.
Gabral to Kundol Lake: 4-5 hours to a remote alpine lake at 3,800 m. One of the best-kept secrets in Swat.
Bahrain to Andrab Lake: 3 hours through terraced fields and forest to a peaceful lake with mountain reflections.

Kandol Lake (from Utror): 2-3 days. Trek to a glacier-fed lake at 11,500 feet via high alpine meadows. Start in Utror, Day 1 to Kandol Meadows, Day 2 to the lake. Return same route or loop via Utror ridge.
Falaksair Peak (5,920 m): Pakistan's tallest mountain in Swat district. 7-10 day expedition from Kalam via Gabral and Falaksair glacier. Requires mountaineering experience, ice axe and crampons. Use a registered expedition company.
Mankial Peak (2,700 m): a less technical but very rewarding 2-day trek from Bahrain with views across the full breadth of the valley.
Swat-Kohistan Traverse: advanced 5-7 day cross-range trek from Swat into Kohistan via high mountain passes. For experienced trekkers only with a full expedition team.
Local guide rate: PKR 2,500-4,000 per day. Always agree on the rate before the trek.
Porter rate: PKR 1,500-2,500 per day for loads up to 15 kg.
Camping equipment rental: available in Kalam Bazaar for sleeping bags, tents and cooking stoves.
Jeep to trek start points: PKR 3,000-8,000 depending on destination.
