Mingora's Riverside Escape
A beautiful recreational park on the banks of River Swat in Mingora. Perfect for families with boating, jogging tracks, flower gardens, and playgrounds.
Fizagat Park was established in the 1990s as Mingora's first purpose-built recreational space. The park was created on the banks of the Swat River where the water flows wide and gentle, creating a natural setting for families seeking respite from the city's bustle. The name 'Fizagat' comes from the nearby village of the same name.
Over the years, the park has undergone multiple upgrades. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government invested in new facilities including children's playgrounds, boating lakes, flower gardens, walking tracks, and food courts. The park was briefly closed during the 2009 security operations but reopened to great celebration as a symbol of normalcy returning to Swat.
Today, Fizagat Park is the most visited recreational spot in Mingora, drawing thousands of visitors every weekend. It serves as a green oasis in an increasingly urban Mingora and remains a beloved gathering spot for families, especially during Eid festivals and school holidays.
Fizagat Park is located on the northern edge of Mingora city, about 3 km from the main bazaar. Auto-rickshaws, Suzuki vans, and taxis can take you there in 10 minutes. The park has a parking area for private vehicles.
